Supreme Court Rules for More Liberty, Less Regulation
The Supreme Court (SCOTUS) overturned the Chevron ruling that allowed federal agencies in the Executive branch to have the upper hand on interpretations of industry regulations. This will impact many industries, especially trucking and Energy.
For forty years with the Chevron ruling, federal agencies within the Executive Branch and many NGO’s (non-governmental organizations) shaped policy pertaining to especially ambiguous laws and regulations. This will cease.
If truckers or their advocates have a beef with particular regulations, they now have a greater voice with the new SCOTUS ruling.
The potential impact is huge and may affect emission standards, safety rules, and labor regulations in the transportation industry.
The same SCOTUS ruling holds true for the Oil and Energy sectors.
In this short video with Kevin O’Leary, he mentions “education” or the lack thereof. THIS is where we are now – a lack of an educated public (including me) regarding energy, technology, hydrocarbons, scrubbers, carbon sequestering, etc.

Kevin O’Leary on Energy
I feel Doug Burgum (current North Dakota Governor) will be Trump’s vice-presidential pick (he’s good on energy from what I know and fossil energy drives America’s economy – not wind, not water, not green stuff, not wishful thinking, etc).
However, expect some turmoil as courts will strive to adjust interpretations coming out of the FMCSA and other governmental agencies – not only for current regulations but for future ones as well.
